virtual lessons

Deepen your experience (but with the convenience of the internet)

Working with horses is an excellent opportunity for personal growth. That can happen in a variety of ways, and every trainer emphasizes different elements. Personally, I’m looking to connect with folks and their horses locally and around the world who get excited about:

  • Leaning into "feel" (timing, mechanics, and use of repertoire within an environment)
  • Learning behavioral nuance and how it affects training
  • Learning new ways to solve problems or advance skills
  • A willingness to invest the necessary time, money, consistency, empathy
  • Courage to “embrace the suck” in the beginning

Ultimately, the folks who have an open mind, and are actively looking for radical change (even or especially if it's in miniscule steps day-by-day), and are willing to make the investment are going to be the ones who progress the most and have the most fun doing it.

20% off until the end of 2025

I want to start teaching more virtual lessons, whether that’s in a live situation with a Pivo or a video review situation where we review a video together. I’m still experimenting with a format, and finding people who are interested in it. For a video review session, I find WhatsApp works quite well. I have yet to find a great live lesson option, but I know there are people out in the world I can connect with!

In order to explore this idea, I'd like to offer 20% off all virtual session prices until December 31st, 2025.

Example virtual video review

Vinny was having trouble standing for the farrier. His owner, Kristina, had said he was generally good for her when they were alone, so we decided to try a video review of the baseline behavior to see if there were any indicators as to why. I was really impressed by how quiet and attentive he was, and overall how comfortable he was with her handling his feet. I only found a few small details that may or may not have anything to do with his anxiety with other people.

virtual session rates

This is a great compliment to the shaping plan & training log.

One-time consult sessions are $120 ($96) for approximately two hours. This includes discussion of your horse's history, the problem you're having, a video review (if you have video, not more than ten minutes), and a basic training and/or management plan.

Video review sessions are $55 ($44) for approximately an hour, which includes review and commentary/discussion on a video you have pre-recorded and sent prior to the session (video not more than ten minutes) This is a great option if you have something you're currently working on, and want some detailed feedback.

Package of eight video review sessions: $400 ($320)

Short sessions are $35 ($28) for approximately thirty minutes, and include review and commentary/discussion on a video you have pre-recorded and sent prior to the session (not more than five minutes). They work well for very focused lessons and/or tasks, where you just want a second pair of eyes.
